SD Light and Sound processes personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation. Below you can read which data we collect, why, who we share it with and what rights you have in return.

Data controller

SD Light and Sound, registered at De Pannelaan 73, 8660 De Panne (Belgium), decides why and how your personal data is processed. You can reach us at Stephan.dobos@icloud.com or on +32 473 36 83 96. The full legal details are at the bottom of this page.

What data we process

The quote form sends us your name, your email address, the type of event, the date you have in mind and the content of your message. Our server also briefly records your IP address at the moment you submit the form, and we measure visitor numbers anonymously. We collect nothing else, and never ask for more than we need to answer you.

Purposes and legal grounds

We use the form data to answer your enquiry and draw up a quote. The legal ground is the performance of pre-contractual steps taken at your request (art. 6.1.b GDPR). Your IP address is processed solely to prevent abuse of the form, and visitor numbers to keep the site working and usable; both rest on our legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR). We never use your data for advertising and we sell it to no one.

Who we share data with

To run the site and deliver your enquiry we rely on three processors: Vercel Inc. for hosting and logs, Resend for sending the email (with Amazon SES underneath), and Apple iCloud for the mailbox that receives your enquiry. A data processing agreement is in place with each of them. We share nothing else with third parties unless the law obliges us to.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

The form itself is processed on servers in Frankfurt, Germany, so within the EEA. The processors named above are US companies, which means certain data — logs and the email that gets sent — does end up outside the EEA. That transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, where it does not apply, on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep your data

An enquiry submitted through the form is kept until one year after our last contact about it, then deleted. If your enquiry turns into an actual booking, the related data is kept for as long as the law requires, in particular the seven-year accounting retention period. Your IP address disappears automatically within the hour.

Security

The site runs entirely over an encrypted connection and is protected by strict security headers. The form is protected against automated abuse. Access to your enquiry stays limited to whoever needs it to answer you.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies at all. Visitor statistics work without cookies and without any data that identifies you personally. That is also why we do not ask you for cookie consent.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict processing and to data portability. You can also object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Where processing rests on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what happened before. An email to Stephan.dobos@icloud.com is enough; we reply within a month.

Lodging a complaint

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels — contact@apd-gba.be — www.dataprotectionauthority.be.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy whenever the processing changes. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading.
